The Sarasota Film Society Presents:
The 2010 48hr. Guerrilla Film Competition
The 2010 48 Hour Guerrilla Film Competition (48GFC) is Florida’s first REAL film competition.
The 48 GFC is a 2 Day Competition. Film Makers form teams and have 48 hours to complete a full short film. To keep the "playing field level" all teams must meet at a specified location and draw a random line of dialogue and genre for their film.
While all the "typical" genre's are present and accounted for (Western, Action/Adventure, Horror) we don't stop there. Other more "unusual" genres include: Sock Puppet, Time Travel, 80's Movie, Grind House, and many more.
At it's core the GFC is about having fun and practicing the art of film making. But it is also a wonderful team building situation, as the sheer workload will cause some teams to "crack" under the pressure. Those that do make it thorough however, are rewarded with not only a sense of gratification at a job well done but also they get to show the fruits of their labor on the "big screen" at the Sarasota Film Society's gorgeous Lakewood Ranch Cinema's and attend a world class "wrap party".
THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO ALL AGES AND ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS - WE REGULARLY HAVE BOTH AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS COMPETE WITH OFTEN SURPRISING RESULTS!
